Mix and Match Custom SA Series Wheelset. on 40mm, 50mm, 60mm & 80mm deep rims. Available with Black, White or Pink Decals

Choose your rim depths for your front & rear wheel or mix and match, then choose your decals colour.

Cyclists use a deeper rim on the rear and a shallower rim on the front to balance aerodynamic efficiency whilst improving control and handling. Here’s why this setup is beneficial:

Aerodynamic Gains: A deeper rear rim reduces air resistance, helping to improve speed, especially on flat courses or in time trials. Since the rear wheel doesn’t steer, it can have a deep rim without affecting handling too much, providing maximum aerodynamic advantage.

Improved Stability in Crosswinds: The front wheel has a greater impact on handling and stability because it’s responsible for steering. A deeper rim on the front is more susceptible to crosswinds, which can make the bike harder to control. Using a shallower rim on the front reduces the effect of crosswinds, helping the rider maintain better control, especially at high speeds.

Weight Distribution and Balance: Deeper rims are generally heavier than shallower rims, so placing the deeper, heavier rim on the rear helps keep the weight more balanced, as the rear of the bike typically bears more of the rider’s weight.

Our SA series custom-painted wheels will then be built our proven built using our TH01 hub from our TH50D Wheelsets.
